Near Miss News is a story-sharing tool to improve workplace safety. Most people would rather hear about an accident than be in one. Every-day workers have accidents and near-miss incidents. Many such stories are worth sharing and can act to motivate safety and heighten awareness.
Too many times workplaces emphasize "accident free" number of days, weeks, months, etc. This results in under-reporting or delays in reporting that make for more expensive claims and unintended liabilities.
